FAQs
What do I need to wear?
If you have a shoulder or back problem you will be asked to take your top off. Ladies need to wear a bra or a vest top if they feel more comfortable. If you have a lower limb problem wearing a pair of shorts can be really helpful.
How many sessions will I need?
It is difficult to give a precise number because we are all so different. Your therapist will be able to give more of an indication after your initial assessment. The number of sessions you require will also depend on the level of sport or activity you need to return to. Pain will generally settle quickly but it is important to fully rehabilitate your problem to prevent it coming back and needing further treatment.
Will I need to do exercises?
In most cases it is appropriate for your physiotherapist to give you home exercises. Most of the current research shows that tailored exercises help most musculoskeletal problems.
Do I need to see my GP?
You do not need a referral from a GP to see us at Grace Physiotherapy Ltd. There may be occasions where we refer you back to your GP if we suspect that you have an issue that physiotherapy will not help and you need further investigations.

What should I do afterwards?
We advise you to stay well hydrated after your treatment and not to participate in your normal sporting activities on the day of treatment. Sometimes you may feel like you are tired, especially after acupuncture. If you can take a nap, but not too close to bed time so it does not interfere with your sleep.
